beetroot chutney | beetroot pachadi | chukandar ki chutney is a very healthy alternative to our onion/tomato chutney to serve with idly, dosa's. This chutney will go well with idly, dosa and I like this with hot rice along with a spoon of ghee. Doctor's always suggest us of healthy diet and beetroot is one among those healthy foods. Some people can't take raw beetroot and some doesn't like beetroot juice, for those this beetroot chutney | beetroot pachadi | chukandar ki chutney is a very healthy alternative.

Ingredients:

  • Oil - 6 table spoons
  • Chana dal - 2 table spoons
  • Coriander seeds - 1 table spoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 table spoon
  • Dried red chillies - 5 to 6
  • Medium sized garlic - 1
  • Some curry leaves
  • Large size beetroot - 1
  • Turmeric - 1 tea spoon
  • Salt - 1 table spoon
  • Mustard seeds
  • Hing - Pinch

Procedure:

  • Take a frying pan and add 2 table spoons oil, add 2 table spoons chana dal, 1 table spoon coriander seeds, 1 table spoon cumin seeds, 5 to 6 dried red chillies, and some garlic cloves.
  • Roast all of them on medium flame for 5 mins and keep a side.
  • Now again add 2 table spoons oil and fry the beetroot pieces till it becomes soft and till the raw smell goes.
  • Now let it cool for sometime and combine all together as shown in the video and grind to a smooth paste.
  • Now for tempering add 2 table spoons of oil and add mustard seeds, hing and some curry leaves and add this to the grind beetroot chutney.
  • Tasty and yummy beetroot chutney | beetroot pachadi | chukandar ki chutney is ready serve with idly/dosa or hot hot rice along with some ghee.

Egg curry | Egg drop curry | Poached egg curry : Sunday ho ya Monday roj kao "Ande"(Egg).Egg is one of the very essential food, it have lots of have health benefits and an egg is a very versatile food, can be prepared in many ways some of the easy and familiar recipe's are boiled eggs, poached eggs, omelette, and many more. Egg can be infused into many other dishes and it's taste is just commendable. I just love eggs and I always try to include a egg daily in my dishes. Here we are presenting you with the simple yet delicious recipe called egg curry | egg drop curry | poached egg curry .



Along with the egg we have included goodness of some other vegetables too like, tomato's, potato's , green peas and spring onions. It's a curry, juicy like texture along with the poached eggs. Firstly we have to cook all the vegetables adding the spices and then at last we have to drop the eggs to get them poached. In this way we give ample amount of time for vegetables to cook properly and as we are poaching the eggs in the last it will get all the spices and vegetables flavour to it. This dish is one of my favourite dish. It hardly takes any time to prepare. We can easily carry it to office , schools as our lunch. As it's a curry it goes well with both rice and roti.And don't forget to try our yummy and delicious Omelette Puri recipe.



Try some of our other recipe's too: An important point to be noted is , once we break and drop the egg inside the gravy we should't touch it till 5 to 10 minutes other wise eggs will get messy and will not poach in a shape.

Ingredients:

  • Onions - 4 medium sized
  • Ginger & garlic crush - 1 tea spoon
  • Tomato's - 3 medium sizes
  • Potato - 3 medium sized
  • Spring onions - 4 to 5
  • Green peas - 1 cup
  • Salt - 1 table spoon
  • Chilli powder(Mixed along with cumin, coriander and mustard powder) - 2 table spoons
  • Eggs - 4
  • Coriander - 1 cup
  • Oil - 3 table spoons
  • Water - 2 cups

Procedure:

  • Take a pan and add 3 table spoons of oil .
  • Once its heated add onions and fry till translucent.
  • Further add the ginger and garlic crush and fry till the raw smell goes.
  • Now it's time to add roughly chopped tomatoes and fry till they turn mushy.
  • Now add salt and masala powder(which includes chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder , mustard powder and turmeric powder.) and fry for some 5 minutes.
  • Further add potatoes, spring onions and green peas fry till they become soft and add 2 cups of water and cook till the veggies are done.
  • Now it's time to poach the eggs, slowly break the eggs and drop it to the gravy and don't touch those for some 10mins or else eggs wont't poach to a good shape.
  • After 10mins add coriander and egg curry | egg drop curry | poached egg curry is ready, serve hot with rice or roti.

Puri | Stuffed Puri | Green Peas Puri who doesn't love puri and when a puri is packed with a super spicy green peas stuffing then it will just make your day.Here we are presenting you with a stuffed puri and the stuff is made out of green peas. Green peas are one of my personal favourite they tastes just awesome. This stuffed puri will be a perfect Sunday brunch.



These puri's are so yummy that you have to cheat yourself if following a any diet , a cheat day will be definitely worthy. Some important points to note are this dough should be bit harder or else it will absorb the oil while deep frying. And the peas mixture should be fried till all its moisture is absorbed then it will reside well inside the puri. For a single puri we have to take a lemon sized ball and the peas mixture should be half of the dough's size.We can also add all purpose flour along with wheat flour but here we have only used wheat flour. This goes well with curd and pickle or aloo dum will be a perfect combination.

Ingredients:

  • Atta / Wheat flour - 1 cup
  • Salt - 2 tea spoon
  • Water - As required for dough
  • Oil - For deep fry
  • Green peas - 1 cup
  • Cumin powder - 1 tea spoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 tea spoon
  • Chilli powder - 1 tea spoon
  • Ginger - half inch

Procedure:

  • In a large mixing bowl take 1 cup wheat flour, 1 tea spoon salt and add little amounts of water in intervals and knead to a bit hard dough.
  • Pressure cook green peas for 1 whistle.
  • Further in a bowl take cooked peas, salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and ginger and grind to a smooth paste.
  • Take a lemon sized wheat dough, make it as a well as shown in the video and add small amount of peas mixture, grease on both the sides and roll it to a circular shape.
  • Heat oil in a pan for deep fry.
  • Further drop the rolled puri in the heated oil and press gentle so that it puffs up then fry on both the sides till golden brown.
  • Hot and tasty puri | stuffed puri | green peas puri is ready. Serve hot with curd and pickle or aloo dum/ potato curry

Gulabi puvulu(rose flowers) | Rice flour fried cookies is an authentic sweet recipe of India, mostly prepared in south India. The shape of these cookies resembles rose flowers hence the name gulabi puluvu(rose flowers). The maker(mould) is made of aluminium and comes with a long handle. This maker/mould is easily available in online stores such as amazon.



These cookies/flowers are made of rice flour and all purpose flour(maida) and has an immense flavour of cardamom(elichi) which adds more taste to the cookies. These cookies are detached from the mould using any sharp object, we have used knife to detach it. Ingredients:

  • Rice flour - 1 cup
  • Maida / All purpose flour - 2 cups
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Water - 2 cups
  • oil - For deep fry
  • Cardamom powder - 2 tea spoons

Procedure:

  • Dissolve sugar in water and keep aside.
  • In a bowl mix rice flour, maida(all purpose flour), cardamom powder and sugar water(point 1) and mix well to a creamy, flowing consistency batter.
  • Heat oil in a pan for frying the cookies.
  • Once oil is heated dip the cookie maker in the oil and let it sit for 5 mins.
  • Now dip the heated maker in the batter as shown in the video and let it sit for 5 secs and place it immediately in the oil.
  • After some 5 seconds slowly de mould/detach the cookie from the mould using a sharp object like knife as shown in the video.
  • Fry till golden brown on both the sides.
  • Crispy and tasty gulabi puvulu | rice flour fried cookies ready.

  • Now make two puri's of equal size.
  • Place this half done omelette on one puri and cover it with another puri.
  • Now heat oil in a pan for frying the puri's.
  • Once heated fry the omelette covered puri.

  • Sugar - 3/4th cup
  • curd - 1/4th cup
  • oil - 2 table spoons
  • Orange zest - 1 tea spoon
  • Orange juice - 1/4th cup
  • Baking soda - 1 tea spoon
  • Ghee - 1 tea spoon
  • Salt - 3 cups

Procedure:

  • Beat oil, sugar, curd, maida, baking soda, orange zest and orange juice to fine creamy smooth texture with flowing consistency.
  • Now fill pressure cooker platform with salt and preheat for 5 mins.
  • Grease the cake tin with ghee and pour the batter in the tin.
  • Now place it in the pre heated cooker and cook for 45 mins on low flame without using the whistle and gasket.
  • After 45 mins check whether the cake is cooked or not by inserting a knife or tooth pick, if it comes clean that means the cake is perfectly cooked.
  • Let it cool down for 10 mins and de mould it.
  • Delicious and yummy orange cake is ready.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups rice flour
  • 1/2 cup black split gram(urad dal/minapapu)
  • 1 table spoon cumin(jeera)
  • 1 table spoon carom seeds(ajwain)
  • 4 table spoon til
  • 1 table spoon salt
  • 2 table spoon hot oil
  • water
  • oil for frying

Procedure:


  • Pressure cook black split gram(urad dal/minapapu) for 6 whistles.
  • Once its cooked add rice flour, salt, cumin, carom seeds ,sesame, hot oil and mix well. 
  • Now add little amounts of water to form a dough. 
  • Then make a lemon sized ball of the dough.
  • Put that in the murkulu machine and then move it in circular motion for 2 secs in the heated oil to form murukulu shape. 
  • Fry till golden brown, crispy crispy murukulu/janthikalu ready.

A healthy kids special recipe, with goodness of banana, dark chocolate, wheat flour and dry fruits. Kids will surely enjoy this recipe.

Ingredients:
  • Banana - 1
  • Wheat flour - 1 cup
  • Sugar/jaggery - 1/2 cup
  • Ghee
  • Dark chocolate sauce
  • Dry fruits of your wish
Procedure:
  • Smash banana pieces , add wheat flour, sugar/jaggery and water to make smooth, flowing consistency batter.
  • Heat pan, add ghee and pour the batter into the pan to make a pan cake and roast on both the sides.
  • Once done, place the pan cake on a plate, apply chocolate sauce then add dry fruit pieces all over the pan cake.

Amla ka achar / Gooseberry pickle / usirikaya uragay

Ingredients:



  • Amla's - 20
  • Oil - For frying
  • Salt  - 3 tea spoon
  • Jeera/cumin powder - 1 tea spoon
  • Methi/ fenugreek powder - 1 tea spoon
  • Chilli powder -  2 tea spoon
  • Mustard oil - 4 table spoon
  • Hing - 1/2 tea spoon



Procedure:


  • Cut amla into pieces.
  • Deep fry them for 5 mins.
  • Take them into a bowl.
  • Dry roast cumin and fenugreek and make it to fine powder.
  • Make mustard powder.
  • Add salt, powdered cumin and fenugreek and mustard powder and mix well.
  • Heat mustard oil and add hing to it.
  • Pour this to the amla mixture and mix well.
  • Store it in a jar for 2 days.
  • Amla/ gooseberry pickle ready.
  • Enjoy this with hot rice/ roti.

Almond Kheer

Almond kheer:

Almonds which are rich in protein , fibre , magnesium, vitamin E and lots of healthy fats when combined with richness of milk and creaminess of rice paste results in a delicious creamy kheer. Below are the ingredients and procedure , try and enjoy :) 

Ingredients:

  • Rice 1 cup
  • Almonds 1/2 cup
  • Milk 1 litre
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Pinch of cardamom powder
  • Pinch of salt

Procedure:
  • Soak almonds overnight, peel the skin and grind it to a smooth paste.
  • Soak rice for 2 hrs and grind it to a smooth paste.
  • Boil milk, once boiled add rice paste and stir continuously for 5 mins then add almond paste and again stir well for another 5 mins, add water/milk if it becomes thick.
  • Then add the sugar and keep the kheer on low flame for 5 mins.
  • Finally add cardamom powder and pinch of salt to enhance the taste.
  • Add almond pieces for the crunchiness in the kheer.
  • Delicious almond kheer is ready.
